We wanted to share a terrific deal that was offered by Princess last year. If you booked a 4 or 5 day cruise from Fort Lauderdale during a specified time period (January 2014), you received the cruise fare back in onboard credit towards payment of a 2014 Princess Cruise (7-day cruise minimum). We are using these funds towards our 28-day cruise on the Regal from Barcelona making its debut to Fort Lauderdale.
We were able to take time away from our travel business to take a 4 and 5-day cruise (back to back) from Fort Lauderdale that visited Princess Cays, Cozumel and Grand Turks. This was our first time in Grand Turks and we thoroughly enjoyed the hop-on/off buses that you can book through the cruise ship and /or on your own. The ocean water is absolutely a beautiful blue color. The beach facilities are close to the port and are available for guests to use - what an absolutely beautiful day to walk/relax by the beach or have a drink/lunch at Margaritaville.
The island is also famous as being the first place that Columbus first landed when coming to the New World over 500 years ago. This claim cannot be fully established but the island embracing the 'fact' that Columbus first landed there.
If you have never been to Grand Turk, we highly recommend it as a place to visit some beautiful beaches, do a little shopping and take in some of the historical facts about the island. Feel free to look at our pictures from the Grand Turks in our picture gallery.
